On 20 February 2014, a workshop for election stakeholders that included representatives from Indonesian EMBs, academics, election monitoring organisations, and media were held, followed by a public seminar on the day afterward which presented recommendations from the workshop. The aim of the forum was to share and discuss each EMB’s efforts and strategic plan to increase voters’ participation in their respective countries.
During the period of December 2013 to January 2014, I was invited to be an independent consultant by Australian Electoral Commission (AEC), to undertake a scoping study for the establishment of an electoral management course in Indonesia. This study is a part of curriculum development plan of the Electoral Management Course (EMC) prepared by AEC Indonesia.
As part of its commitment to encourage communication and cooperation with international electoral bodies, AEC organised the EVSP and brought together election practitioners from various countries, including Indonesia.
